At the age of 25, following the death of King George VI, the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II takes place at Westminister Abbey. It required 14 months of planning and preparation. It was the first British coronation to be televised. Queen Elizabeth II is now in her 91st year (2017) and is the longest reigning British monarch in history.
