CAROL MCLEOD was born in Halifax, Nova Scotia in 1951.  She graduated from Amherst Regional High School with Honors in 1970, receiving the Governor General's Medal for Highest Standing, Lieutenant-Governor's Medal for Nova Scotia, and a three year renewable scholarship from Mount Allison University.  She worked with the Amherst Daily News 1970-1971 and the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce from 1971 until she resigned in 1979.
