Reviews
"Stauton captures the difficulties of childhood in a simple tale."
Denise Parrott, Resource Links
"This attractive and accessible book uses age-appropriate vocabulary in fun and interesing ways. An appealing central character makes the familiar plot pleasurable to follow. Bill Slavin's clever and expressive drawings add much charm. Highly recommended."
Deborah Dowson, Canadian Book Review Annual
"Most children...will relate to both the characters and the situations in this story. They will enjoy the informal language... Slavin's humorous illustrations should assist readers with their transition from picturebooks to novel format. Parents and teachers will find the story a good discussion starter."
