BASIL KING was born in 1859 in Charlottetown, PEI, and attended the University of King’s in Halifax. He went on to become a clergyman first in Nova Scotia, and later in New England. King began writing later in life, and was a founder of the Canadian Authors Association. His novels, largely based on the socialite milieu of his wife, were bestsellers in the US.
