David B. Flemming

DAVID B. FLEMMING has had a lifelong interest in the Halifax Explosion. A native of Halifax and a graduate of Saint Marys University he served for many years as an historian with Parks Canada in Ottawa and Halifax. This preceded his appointment as curator of collections and later director of the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic where he contributed to the production of an exhibit on the Halifax Explosion. He helped organize a conference on the topic in 1992 resulting in the book Ground Zero. He served as a member of the executive council of the International Congress of Maritime Museums and later as president of the Royal Nova Scotia Historical Society. He is currently a heritage consultant and president of Heritage Ottawa.’
