History and Stories of Isaac’s Harbour & Goldboro
by Findlay Cooke
A collection of stories pertaining to an old, and once very prosperous mining town.
This book tells the story of the height of prosperity in Isaac's Harbour and Goldboro in Nova Scotia. The 1860 discovery of gold in this region turned the town into a booming mining town. Many new comers flocked to work in the gold mines; and some even remained in the area when the gold ran out. At the peak, there were at least a dozen stores and wharves in this small community. These are the stories that have passed down from generation to generation.
